No, the customer was relocating to Louisiana from Virginia, so we did not do an on-site evaluation. Instead, we did a pool fence estimate for them using Google Earth. We completed the pool fence installation on April 2, 2019.
Since Mandeville is located within St. Tammany Parish they must adhere to St. Tammany Paris pool fence requirements. Local pool fence requires a state that all pools must be completely enclosed within a permanent and solidly constructed fence or structure that is at least four feet in height. Additionally, the fence must have a gate or door opening that is equipped with a self-closing, self-latching device for keeping the gates or doors closed and locked at all times.
What Was the Scope of Work?
For this job, the homeowners wanted to have a solid core, black 4-foot tall fence installed. They choose to get the arched top gate, which is an upgrade to our regular pool gate. Yes, since the client was out of state, we never had the opportunity to meet with them in person. Because they wanted to have the pool fence installed between the closing and move-in dates we did everything over the phone and through email. On installation day, they were still in Virginia, so we went over the final layout of the fence over the phone and then proceeded with the installation.
After the pool fence was installed, we sent them photos which they were very happy with, especially since we ended up coming in 15% cheaper than we had initially estimated. We have had customers under a variety of circumstances and will work with them to overcome any challenges – even if that means they aren’t in the same state when booking and completing the installation!
